Bio

Greetings, First and foremost, thank you very much for taking the time and interest to view the artwork I have on display. I absolutely love art, I always have. It's something that I do not take lightly, or for granted. To be able to create artwork with my own hands had been such a blessing to me. My name is Jason Dickinson, I'm 40 years old, I am currently incarcerated in Abilene, Tx on the French Robertson unit. I have been here since 1999, twenty six years. I came down here an immature kid to be honest. I was lost without hope, I lacked direction, guidance, purpose in my life. For a long time I stayed in trouble doing hard time, closed custody, segregation I was at the bottom of the barrel to say the least. Then 14 years ago I got fed up with all the nonsense. I wanted desperately more, something better for me. I gave my life to Lord Jesus, fully, sincerely, I started drawing, taking it seriously. I became a pastor, peer-educator, unit mentor here on this unit. Sharing my story, sharing my testimony with these young men who were just like me, trying to help them to not make the same mistakes had made and tell them wholeheartedly the good work God done in my life that He could do in theirs also. Eight years ago the opportunity arose to get in the crafts shop. It has been life changing, I started off airbrushing illustration boards, canvasses, now l've advanced to automotive paint jobs like the lion here, and the owl cup. I grind the image into the aluminum before 1 paint with candy paint, clear coat, then sand, and polish. A lot of work, but it is worth it to see the finished product. I hope that you enjoy, and see something you like. God bless you. Sincerely
