We have an extraordinary warden here at the Robertson unit, she has really been supportive of family and rehabilitation. we have a craftshop here unlike any other. I learned how to airbrush 2 years ago and I'm addicted. I paint using candy paint. which is a dye not a paint pigment and has superior effects because it is 100% transparent and gets darker in value as more coats are applied. this also makes it difficult to work with as it will tell on you if you make mistakes and mistakes are often impossible to fix. I primarily paint on metal and rarely paint canvas I love the vibrancy and the depth in which I can create plus spraying on a good automotive grade finish and buffing and polishing makes the work just pop out. I can't clear coat canvas. I've airbrushed over 300 stainless steel tumblers in the last two years with everything from portraits to unicorns. now I'm into painting over ground aluminum in order to get holographic effects.
